15 July Democracy and National Unity Day Commemoration Program was held by Yalova Governorship.
A series of events were held in Yalova on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day. First, a march started in front of the 17 August Earthquake Monument. After the march, a commemoration program was held at 15 July Democracy and Republic Square. After the Mehter Band concert, the ceremony started. After a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, the Holy Quran was recited. The program continued with the prayer of Provincial Mufti İlyas Yılmaztürk. Afterwards, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's speech was watched on the giant screen.
Then, in his speech, Yalova Governor Ahmet Hamdi Usta stated that FETO's treacherous coup attempt was eliminated by the determined stance of the nation and said, "July 15 is not only the date when a coup attempt was prevented, but also a great victory of democracy that our nation wrote with the spirit of unity and solidarity."
Addressing citizens at the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day events, Usta said that they were once again on democracy watch on the 10th anniversary of the coup attempt. Thanking the citizens who filled the square, Usta commemorated those who were martyred for the sake of the homeland, flag, adhan and national will on the night of July 15, with mercy and gratitude, and expressed his gratitude to the veterans.
Emphasizing that the people of Yalova took to the streets with a great sense of responsibility and defended the national will on the night of the coup attempt, Usta stated that the betrayal that FETO tried to carry out by infiltrating the state institutions for years was defeated thanks to the resistance it put up at the expense of the nation's lives.
Stating that millions of citizens, men, women, young and old, took to the squares that night and claimed democracy, independence and the future, Usta said, "It was shown to the whole world that there is no power above the will of the nation. The treacherous coup attempt was eliminated with the historical struggle under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan."
Stating that July 15 was not only the day when a coup attempt was thwarted, Usta said, "The determination, courage and sacrifice demonstrated that night continue to be one of the strongest sources of inspiration that shape Türkiye's future. Our beloved nation, which shielded itself against tanks and did not leave the squares when death was at its doorstep, left a great epic full of honor and independence to future generations."
After his speech, the young athletes who performed the Banner Run handed over the flag. The program continued with various events. In addition to the Yalova provincial protocol, many citizens also attended the commemoration program.
