A group of Democratic senators in the USA demanded that the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) immediately make public the investigation into the attack on an elementary school in Iran's Hormozgan province, in which 175 people, most of them children, lost their lives.
25 US Democratic senators, including Jack Reed, Kirsten Gillibrand and Angela Alsobrooks, sent a letter to US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Brad Cooper regarding the Pentagon's investigation into the attack in question.
In the letter, it was pointed out that although more than four months have passed since the attack and the investigation was presented in April, Congress and the US public have still not seen the Ministry's investigation report and its findings.
The letter stated that the Ministry should immediately submit the full and uncensored version of the investigation to Congress, and that a concrete plan should be put forward to prevent such a tragedy from happening again.
The letter emphasized that the US military has a legal and moral obligation to take precautions to prevent harm to civilians, adding: "When a US attack kills civilians, the Department owes Congress, the US people, and the families of the victims a clear accounting of what happened and a credible plan to prevent future failures." statements were included.
Iranian state television announced that on February 28, the USA and Israel carried out an attack on the Shajarat al-Tayyiba Girls' Primary School in Minab city of Hormozgan province. 175 people, most of them children, lost their lives in the attack.
