SHUSHA, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China, the cooperation between the two countries has significantly intensified in areas such as politics, economy and transportation, and that the number of Chinese companies operating in the country has increased.
Speaking to Xinhua at the opening ceremony of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum held in Shusha, Azerbaijan, on Monday, Aliyev stated that some Chinese companies have already made large investments in Azerbaijan, and some are participating in various infrastructure projects.
Aliyev said, "During my official visit, I met with the managers of many leading Chinese companies. I am pleased to see that the activities of these companies in Azerbaijan have already yielded results. These companies work extremely efficiently, quickly and to very high standards."
Noting that many solar energy projects have been implemented in Azerbaijan, Aliyev pointed out that all solar panels installed in the country are produced in China. Aliyev added that a large Chinese company is currently carrying out an investment project to establish a solar panel production facility in Azerbaijan.
Aliyev said, "All the solar panels you see in Azerbaijan are produced in China, regardless of which company the project is financed by. As of now, no country's manufacturers are able to compete with Chinese manufacturers in terms of price and quality."
Aliyev also described the electric buses, produced jointly with the Chinese automobile manufacturer BYD and currently serving on the streets of the city, as one of the recent important achievements of bilateral cooperation.
Aliyev said, "We have buses in two different colors. Electric buses are green, and old-style buses are red. Therefore, the more the number of our green buses, the better."
