MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli said, "Turkey is not an option for Europe, but a safe rope stretching to the well it has fallen into. Turkey is an indispensable strategic reality in terms of Europe's security, stability, energy supply, trade routes and geopolitical balance."

'THE BOMBING OF IRAN AGAIN SHOCKED CONFIDENCE'

Stating that while the NATO Ankara Summit negotiations were continuing, the world's attention was suddenly divided between Ankara and the Strait of Hormuz, Bahçeli said, "While the summit was continuing, Trump stated that the agreement process was over for him. This situation is not only an expression of the tension that intensified on the Washington-Tehran line and the spiraling conflict under the title of the nuclear program. Just two weeks ago, we said from this podium that we were satisfied with the words of agreement, but that we approached it cautiously, and expressed the importance of reaching the end of the promise established between the states." "We emphasized the credibility and binding nature of the agreement. We asked whether diplomacy was a temporary deception used to get a finger of honey into the mouth of peace-thirsty humanity, or whether it was a sincere and permanent solution that would block the path of war. The neutralization of the agreement, which had only recently given hope to the region, stopped the fire of the conflict and laid out a timetable for reaching a final agreement, and the subsequent bombing of Iranian territory has shaken the confidence in the possibility of peace."

Pointing out that the order of events should not be reversed, Bahçeli said, "Iran was attacked while it was a party to the agreement. Iranian cities were bombed, Iranian citizens lost their lives, and the country's sovereign territory became the target of military intervention. Ignoring this fact and evaluating the subsequent decisions taken by the Tehran administration to close the Strait of Hormuz under the heading of an independent aggression, as if nothing had happened before, would not be a correct, fair and conscientious approach. To present the cause as the result and the effect as the reason; to turn the truth upside down." It will not mean anything else. Iran has the right to protect its security, defend its sovereign rights and ensure the safety of its nation in the face of attacks on its country. No state is obliged to tolerate sudden bombing while believing that the agreement it signed will protect itself. Presenting the situation in Hormuz as an unreasonable and arbitrary action by Iran is only telling half the truth. The key and the source of the deadlock in Hormuz should be sought in the place where the agreement was broken. If the rule of the negotiation table had not been maintained and military methods had not been resorted to, we would not be talking about the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, but on the basis of which the final agreement would be established. Therefore, first of all, the attacks should be stopped, the violated provisions of the agreement should be made operational again, and the parties should comply with their mutual obligations. The door to peace has recently been opened. "The responsibility for removing the shadow that falls on peace belongs to the parties to the agreement. The United States must see the consequences of the military intervention that are incompatible with the negotiations and return to its commitments. Iran must ensure that the crossings in Hormuz are carried out safely again. The tension rising from Hormuz must be stopped before it turns into a bigger disaster."

Referring to Türkiye's European Union negotiation process, Bahçeli said, "Europe's strategic future should be put on the table again and an equitable future plan should be created. Because the problems facing Europe today have become too severe to be managed with old memorizations. Europe has come to a new crossroads in a wide area ranging from energy supply security to irregular migration, from defense capacity to demographic shrinkage, from supply chains to economic competition. There is a truth that cannot be ignored at this crossroads; the name of that truth is Turkey. "In the wide geopolitical zone extending from Ukraine to the Black Sea, from the Balkans to the Caucasus, from the Eastern Mediterranean to the Middle East, no security equation that does not include Türkiye will be sustainable. No regional stability project that excludes Türkiye will be successful. This is not a wish, but a strategic reality revealed by the changing world," he said.

'Türkiye'S PLACE IS NOT EUROPE'S WAITING ROOM'

Bahçeli pointed out that the European Union has preferred to act with political reflexes that save the day instead of seeing this reality for many years, and continued as follows:

"Türkiye's membership process was evaluated with political prejudices rather than technical criteria. The chapters that needed to be opened were blocked, the obligations that needed to be fulfilled were postponed, the promises were not kept, and Türkiye's justified expectations were constantly overshadowed by other agendas. This approach harmed not only Türkiye but also Europe. Because the European Union narrowed its own strategic horizon while keeping Türkiye in the waiting rooms. Those who think that Europe will be stronger by excluding Türkiye, look back at the security and stability problems they face today Europe is faced with more and more strategic uncertainty. Therefore, Türkiye's European Union process is no longer an issue that can only be addressed under the title of membership negotiations. The issue is whether Europe will confront the geopolitical realities. Our view is clear; Türkiye's relations with the European Union should proceed on the basis of mutual respect, sovereign equality and equity. It is neither avoiding an obligation nor demanding a privilege. Turkey only wants to be honest with itself. Turkey only wants the requirements of the partnership law to be fulfilled. Of course, it is important to complete the visa liberalization process. Of course, it is important to develop economic and commercial relations. However, the more important thing is that Europe has a habit of seeing Türkiye as a country where temporary needs are remembered, and which is postponed again when things return to normal. "Türkiye's place is not in Europe's waiting room. Türkiye's place is in being at the tables where strategic decisions are shaped, with the weight it deserves."

In this context, Bahçeli said that the recent statements of Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis linking Türkiye's role in European security mechanisms to the conflicts in the Sea of Islands are extremely grave, and that it is neither rational nor sustainable to condemn the security of Europe to the narrow political calculations of Athens. Bahçeli said, "Relations between Turkey and Europe cannot be left hostage to the prejudices, electoral calculations or historical fears of third countries. No country has the right to present its own bilateral problems as the common security agenda of Europe. No capital can make Türkiye's legitimate rights and interests a subject of discussion. Türkiye's national rights are not a bargaining element at the negotiation tables. Türkiye's sovereign rights cannot be the subject of any political blackmail. It is out of the question for our attitude to change on this issue. However, the point I would like to underline here is that this discussion is only held by Greece." or not to reduce it to the level of certain conflicts. Because the intention behind this is bigger than what is expressed, and what position Europe will take in the new world order is a test of whether it will act together with Turkey or remain a prisoner of old prejudices. But if there is one truth that will not change under any circumstances, it is this: Turkey is Europe's security, stability, energy. "It is an indispensable strategic reality in terms of supply, trade routes and geopolitical balance. Those who accept this fact will win. Those who ignore it will sooner or later crash into the barriers of the changing world and disperse," he said.

Referring to the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, Bahçeli said, "It is insufficient to evaluate July 15 only as an attempt by FETO. July 15 is the search for other ways by those who could not pass Çanakkale. July 15 is an attempt to solve from within what they could not bring to their knees in the War of Independence. July 15 is the quest of those who could not get Sèvres accepted, to reach the same goal with different methods. July 15, Turkish It is a new front of the long and dark struggle against the nation's will to live independently. The treacherous structure called FETO is only a subcontractor of this dark plan and has been deployed on the field. This evil organization has grown under the guise of education, recruited supporters by exploiting faith, accumulated treason under the guise of charity. It has exploited the pure feelings of our nation, used the resources of our state, infiltrated our institutions and finally attacked the Turkish state when it thought it had the opportunity. "The Turkish nation made history once again that night. This nation does not live as a prisoner. This nation does not surrender its will to tutelage centers," he said.

'TOMORROW THERE MAY BE THOSE WHO TRY OTHER WAYS'

Pointing out that the fight against FETO is not an issue of the past, Bahçeli said, "It is a serious mistake to think that the FETO threat has completely disappeared. Just because the betrayal has changed its method does not mean that the betrayal has ended. Just because the threat has become invisible does not mean that the threat has disappeared. Yesterday there were those who organized under the name of himmet. Today there may be those who want to appear with other masks. Yesterday there were those who used the guise of education. Today there may be those who resort to similar methods in different fields. Yesterday there were those who tried to infiltrate the secret structures of the state." There may be those who try other ways tomorrow. For this reason, it is vital to keep the memory of the state alive, to maintain the institutional measures without compromise, and to keep the national consciousness alive. The day the nation loses its memory, the threats will gain strength again. The day the sense of national unity is eroded, the calculations against Türkiye will become more active. Therefore, keeping the memory of July 15 alive is not only a matter of respect for the past. "It is a duty to our state. It is also loyalty to our nation. One of the lessons that July 15 teaches us is that the survival of Türkiye is above daily political calculations. The independence of the Republic of Turkey is above all kinds of differences of opinion."
