Grand Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici gave information about the process carried out after the reopening of the investigation into the helicopter crash in which Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and his co-defendants lost their lives. Destici announced that arrest and detention warrants were issued for 29 suspects on June 13.
BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici made evaluations at the press conference held at the BBP Headquarters regarding the reopening of the investigation file after 17 years regarding the helicopter crash in which Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and his co-defendants lost their lives.
Destici stated that there are new situations in the file and emphasized that there is a struggle to ensure that those who are at fault in this matter receive the punishment they deserve before the law.
Destici shared the following information about the current status of the file:
"On August 12, 2026, when the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office decided not to have jurisdiction over the file and sent it to Ankara, I stated in the statement we made that day that a new phase has been reached in this process. At this point today, our request is that our judicial authorities and security forces are carrying out the investigation again and comprehensively, in line with the sensitivity of our President, the will of our Minister of Justice to fully reveal the material truth, to ensure that no aspect of the file remains in the dark, and to ensure that everyone with legal responsibility is held accountable before justice within the framework of the principles of the state of law.
