BMW recalled 29,119 vehicles in the USA due to a problem in the starter relay that could pose a risk of flames due to corrosion. It was stated that the problem was caused by corrosion in the engine starter relay caused by moisture or external factors, which could lead to overheating and short circuit.
The recall includes BMW 530e xDrive, 740Le xDrive and some iPerformance models. Vehicle owners will be able to have the starter motor replaced free of charge at authorized services. It was announced that vehicles sold in Türkiye are not covered.
