The search for Yüksel Işık, who has not been heard from after climbing the Cilo Sat Mountain at an altitude of 4 thousand 135 in HAKKARİ, continues on the 2nd day. In addition to the teams in Hakkari, Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) teams from Van and professional mountaineers also participate in the activities, while aerial support is provided to the searches with helicopters and drones.
Two climbers who came to Hakkari from Bursa started climbing Cilo Sat Mountain with an altitude of 4 thousand 135 on July 13. While one of the climbers decided to turn back halfway through the climb, Yüksel Işık continued his climb to the summit alone. After a while, contact with Işık was lost and the other climber reported the situation to the authorities.
Following the notice, AFAD, National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE), Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) and Hakkari Municipality fire brigades were dispatched to the region yesterday. The teams concentrated their search activities around Süppa Dürek Peak and Heaven and Hell Valley, located in the northwest of the Cilo Sat Mountains. Search activities, carried out at an altitude exceeding approximately 4 thousand meters, steep cliffs and rugged terrain, continued today. While the teams in Hakkari are supported by JAK teams from Van and professional mountaineers, the region is also scanned from the air with helicopters and drones.
The teams' activities in the region continue uninterruptedly in order to reach the missing climber Yüksel Işık.
