BEIJING, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian stated that they are extremely concerned about the re-ignition of military conflicts in the Gulf region and called on the relevant parties to act with restraint and preserve the barely achieved ceasefire.
At Tuesday's press conference, Lin called on relevant parties to prevent the resumption of war and, more importantly, to prevent the conflict from spreading and harming more innocent people.
Stating that it is the expectation of the international community that the legal rights and interests of the countries bordering the Strait of Hormuz be respected and normal and safe passages through the Strait be resumed as soon as possible, Lin added that the relevant parties should make efforts in the same direction and find a suitable solution.
