Stating that they are "deeply concerned" about the increasing tension in the Gulf region, Lin said, "China calls on the relevant parties to heed the strong calls for peace and stability in the region and beyond." he said.
Lin stated that they called on the parties to "remain calm, maintain the ceasefire achieved as a result of hard work, avoid returning to war and exercise moderation."
Expressing that the rights and interests of the countries around the Strait of Hormuz should be respected, Lin stated that "the international community wants the normal and safe passage through the Strait to continue immediately."
Lin said, "China will continue to act in accordance with the 4-point proposal presented by President Xi Jinping and continue its efforts to reduce tensions and stabilize the situation in the Middle East and Gulf regions." made his assessment.
Washington and Tehran signed the Islamabad Memorandum on June 14 to end the war that started with the US and Israel's attacks on Iran. The agreement stipulated a 60-day negotiation period for the final agreement.
