Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazim Garibabadi stated that they proposed a new route for ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz during the technical delegation meetings in Oman.

Garibabadi said that they proposed a new route for ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz during the technical delegation meetings in Oman, and associated his country's attack on ships in Oman's territorial waters with "war conditions".
Stating that Iran controls its own territorial waters, Garibabadi argued that they should also monitor the territorial waters of Oman, a coastal country, in terms of security and safety.
Garibabadi stated that the route suggested by Oman for ship passages is unacceptable for Iran.
