Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi stated that the visit to Washington will not be an ordinary visit and said that they came to the USA to declare a strategic partnership with the USA.
Zaidi made the statements during his meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington, the US capital.
Zaydi started his speech by thanking the US President for his warm welcome and hospitality and said, "Our visit to Washington will not be an ordinary visit. We are here to declare a strategic partnership with the USA." he said.
Zaidi gave the following answer to a question about the delivery of the militia's weapons to the state:
"After September 30, there will be no need for the presence of any armed group, our security forces have the capacity to protect our lands. We will not allow anyone to carry weapons outside the state after September 30. A large number of weapons have been received from some armed groups. We will cooperate with those who prefer to engage in political activity."
Zaydi stated that Iraq was fighting against the terrorist organization DAESH with the support of the USA and that they suffered losses of more than 400 billion dollars in this war.
"Some cities in Iraq are still in ruins." Zaidi said, "Some of our people are still living in refugee camps and I want to return them to their homes. I want OPEC to give us our rights." he said.
Iraqi Prime Minister Zaidi went to the USA for his first foreign visit with a delegation consisting of some ministers.
