Kremlin Palace Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, "There is no expectation in the near term to restart the negotiation process, and we do not see such an expectation." He said, "Russia is grateful for Türkiye's willingness to help peace efforts in the Ukraine crisis."
Kremlin Palace Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made a statement regarding the peace talks with Ukraine. Peskov said, "There is no expectation in the near term to restart the negotiation process, and we do not see such an expectation," and stated that Russia continues to be open to peace negotiations on Ukraine.
Stating that the Ukrainian administration knows very well what decisions it needs to take to reach a solution, Peskov said, "Changes in the structure of the Kiev administration, especially changes in positions in the cabinet, are of no importance for Russia." Stating that Russia does not find it appropriate to draw similarities between the situations regarding Iran and Ukraine, Peskov stated that each conflict is unique.
Referring to Türkiye's contributions to the peace efforts between Russia and Ukraine, Peskov said, "Russia is grateful for Türkiye's willingness to assist peace efforts in the Ukrainian crisis."
"The growth rate of the Russian economy is not sufficient"
Arguing that Russia's current economic situation is generally stable and the problems experienced are not at a critical level, Peskov said, "The growth rate of the Russian economy is not sufficient, but the general condition of the global economy is also bad. Russia is not isolated from this situation. Putin regularly evaluates the situation in the Russian economy with the government. The authorities are aware of what needs to be done to balance the economy and improve the situation."
Stating that Russia and the Gulf countries agree that there is a new escalation in the region that may have consequences for the world economy, Peskov said, "Many conflicts cannot be resolved by making an 'agreement', as the expression frequently used in the USA, they require long, complex and multi-dimensional solution processes."
