Aggravated life imprisonment was requested for Enes Koçak (22) and his father Seyfettin Koçak, who stabbed Serdar Bayar (18) to death at the police station in KONYA for allegedly harassing his cousin. A prison sentence of 15 to 20 years was requested for Mahmud Sami Koçak for allegedly helping his father and brother.
The incident occurred at around 01:00 on October 23, 2025. Serdar Bayar was taken to the police station for allegedly harassing R.N.K. (16). Learning about the situation, R.N.K.'s uncle Seyfettin Koçak and his son Enes Koçak went to the police station. Enes Koçak injured Serdar Bayar, whom he encountered at the police station, in the back with 8 stab wounds, 7 of which were fatal. Serdar Bayar died in the hospital. Enes Koçak, his father Seyfettin Koçak and his brother Mahmud Sami Koçak, who was allegedly linked to the incident, were detained by the police. Enes Koçak and his father Seyfettin Koçak, who were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station, were sent to prison, while Mahmud Sami Koçak was released on condition of judicial control.
The father and his two sons, who were tried at Konya 2nd High Criminal Court, appeared before the judge for the second time today. The court board first listened to the witnesses. Then the public prosecutor presented his opinion. The public prosecutor requested aggravated life imprisonment for Enes Koçak and his father Seyfettin Koçak for the crime of "intentional murder against a person who is physically or mentally unable to defend himself." He requested a prison sentence of 15 to 20 years for Mahmut Sami Koçak, who was said to have helped in the incident. Defending us, Seyfettin Koçak said, "The boy was swearing wherever he saw us. He also swore at the police station. I already regret what I went through."
Enes Koçak said, "I regret the situation I experienced. The reason I was carrying a knife with me was to protect myself from Serdar. He had previously cut off my vehicle and pulled a screwdriver. I regret entering the police station with a knife and committing this action. I blacked out when I cursed at the police station." The court postponed the hearing for the parties' lawyers to defend against the opinion.
