(ANKARA) - TKP Secretary General Kemal Okuyan pointed out that the US attack on Iran was launched during the NATO Summit and claimed that the conflict areas in Ukraine and Iran were connected with the summit final declaration. Okuyan said, "The decision to armament and continue the war was taken at the NATO Summit. Now we are seeing the results of this. Conflicts are escalating in both Ukraine and Iran. And we continue to be told 'NATO is a defense and security organization'."
Kemal Okuyan, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Türkiye (TKP), made the following statement on the issue on his social media account:
"The USA launched the new attack on Iran during the NATO summit. The two 'enemies' mentioned in the summit final declaration were Russia and Iran. The Ankara Summit thus made the world even more dangerous by officially connecting the conflict areas in Ukraine and Iran. I am saying something that is impossible, but the AKP government could have said 'we are neighbors with Iran, we should not use such expressions'. But they cannot. They decided to implement neo-Ottomanism under the umbrella of NATO, for one thing."
That article in the NATO final declaration indirectly confirms Türkiye's alliance with Israel. During the summit, they gave extensive media coverage to the tension between Netanyahu and Trump to cover up this fact. So much so that the government began to imply that they had a role in the rift between Israel and the USA.
However, there is no rift between the USA and Israel. Netanyahu and Trump are temporary; US imperialism's need for the state of Israel and vice versa is permanent. The decision to arm and continue the war came out of the NATO Summit. Now we see the results of this. Conflicts are escalating in both Ukraine and Iran.
