Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that they expect the system to be created by the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition established by 10 European countries to become operational within the next 12 months.
In his written post on his social media account, Zelenskiy evaluated the establishment of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition by 10 European countries, including his country, against the increasing threat posed by ballistic missiles.
Noting that Europe needs a common air defense system, Zelenskiy said, "We can create such a system together. Ukraine is ready to provide its part, that is, the ballistic missile defense system. We are currently completing the activities on this." he said.
Stating that the system in question will be called "Freya", Zelenskiy noted that the countries in the coalition are experienced in this regard.
Zelenskiy stated that Ukraine can produce anti-ballistic missiles and other countries can provide radar and related components, adding, "It is important that we combine our forces." made his assessment.
Pointing out that the Russian army continues to attack his country with ballistic missiles to break the resistance of the Ukrainian people, Zelenskiy said, "Europe can be the world leader in the production of high-quality anti-ballistic missiles without political dependence." he said.
Zelenskiy also said in his message, "I hope that we will see Freya (Europe's Anti-Ballistic Missile System) in action within the next 12 months." he stated.
