It was reported that 79 people were detained in the operation against the organized crime group in the city of Reggio Calabria in southern Italy.
According to the news of the Italian ANSA agency, within the framework of the investigation of the Anti-Mafia Unit of the Reggio Calabria Public Prosecutor's Office, 79 people accused of crimes such as establishing a mafia-type organized crime group, drug trafficking, blackmail, robbery and illegal possession and transportation of weapons were detained by the security forces.
It was stated that the operation was aimed at the sub-gangs of the organized crime organization called "Ndrangheta", which is active in Reggio Calabria and its surroundings.
It was stated that the investigation revealed the economic interests of the gangs, from drug trafficking to blackmailing business people and entrepreneurs.
