The flames, which started in the agricultural area in Kemalpaşa district of Izmir and spread to the olive grove, were taken under control with the intervention of the teams.
According to the information received, 8 water tankers, 3 first response vehicles, water tankers, 1 helicopter and many fire brigades belonging to the Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the fire that broke out in the agricultural area on Süvari Street in Yukarıkızılca District.
The flames spread to the olive grove with the influence of the wind.
With the intervention of the teams from air and land, the fire was taken under control before it spread to the forest area.
It was learned that 3 hectares of olive groves were damaged in the fire.
Two suspects were taken to the gendarmerie station for their statements, claiming that the fire might have been caused by sparks from the spiral machine used in renovation activities in the region.
