In the "15 July Flag Run" held in Manisa within the scope of the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day events, national athletes carried the crescent and star banner from hand to hand every 100 meters along the 2.5 kilometer track. During the race that ended in Cumhuriyet Square, the flag was kissed and delivered to Manisa Governor Vahdettin Özkan.
The "15 July Flag Run", organized simultaneously in 81 provinces by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, was held in Manisa with the participation of 25 national athletes.
The race, organized under the coordination of Manisa Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports within the scope of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day events, with the slogan "Democracy Consciousness is a Relay Race Carried from Hand to Hand", started from Izmir Street. National athletes, following the route of Doğu Avenue and Mustafa Kemal Paşa Avenue, completed the approximately 2,500-meter track and reached Cumhuriyet Square.
During the race, the crescent and star banner was carried from hand to hand by the national athletes every 100 meters, while citizens along the route supported the athletes with applause. The national athlete, who took over the banner in the last 100 meters, kissed the star and crescent banner and handed it over to Manisa Governor Vahdettin Özkan at the ceremony held in Cumhuriyet Square. Governor Özkan kissed the flag and received it.
After the race, protocol members and national athletes took a souvenir photo. Manisa Youth and Sports Provincial Director Yunus Öztürk congratulated the athletes who participated in the banner race and presented their participation documents. - MANISA
