It was reported that the hospital treatment of Turkish Cypriot Ahmet Tan, who was attacked and seriously injured last week in the tourist city of Ayia Napa of the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GCASC), continues in intensive care.

In its written statement, the Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) stated that Turkish Cypriot Ahmet Tan, who was injured in the attack in Ayia Napa, received medical attention today and that Tan's general condition is stable.

In the statement, it was stated that Ahmet Tan's treatment continues in the intensive care unit and said, "The news that Ahmet Tan lost his life does not reflect the truth. His treatment continues in the intensive care unit in Southern Cyprus." expressions were used.

Turkish Cypriot Ahmet Tan was attacked by 4 people around Ayias Mavris Street in the touristic Ayia Napa region of the Greek Cypriot Administration on the morning of Sunday, July 5, 2026 (around 06:00).

It was reported that 47-year-old Ahmet Tan, who was hospitalized as a result of the attack, suffered a brain hemorrhage and cracks in his skull as a result of a severe blow.

According to Greek sources, 4 people of Chilean, Iraqi and Albanian nationality carrying Swedish passports who participated in the attack were detained by the Greek police.

Greek newspapers claimed that two people were wanted in connection with the attack.

While it is noted that Ahmet Tan underwent surgery today and there is no change in his health condition, Tan's condition is closely followed by TRNC Ministry of Health officials.
