A 2-year-old child lost his life in a fire that broke out in a house in Davutlar village, central Karabük. It was learned that the family was collecting lindens at the back of the house, while the child, who was alone in the house, was inside and the door of the house was locked.
According to the information obtained, flames broke out in the detached house belonging to Ahmet Ç. for an unknown reason. While the flames, which grew in a short time, completely surrounded the house, gendarmerie, fire brigade, sprinklers from the Forest Management Directorate, health and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene upon notice. With the intensive intervention of the teams, the flames, which partially spread to two surrounding houses, were taken under control and extinguished.
During the checks carried out at home, it was determined that 2-year-old Berkant K, who was found to have caught the fire while sleeping, lost his life. The teams reached the lifeless body of the unfortunate child after long efforts. It was heartbreaking when the grandmother, who was at the scene during the fire, cried and said, "My baby is gone." It was heartbreaking when the father, who came to the village after hearing about the incident, hugged his other children and shed tears.
After the crime scene investigation teams completed their activities, Berkant K's body was taken to the morgue of Karabük Training and Research Hospital for autopsy.
