At Muğla Training and Research Hospital, an information stand was opened within the scope of the "Cancer Contact Point", which was implemented in cooperation with Menteşe Emirbeyazıt Healthy Life Center, and citizens and healthcare professionals were informed about early diagnosis.
An important activity was held in Muğla to spread awareness of "early diagnosis", which is the most effective weapon in the fight against cancer. The Cancer Contact Point stand established within Muğla Training and Research Hospital attracted great attention from citizens and healthcare personnel who applied to the hospital.
Public Health Specialist Dr. took part in the event. Emine Özdemir and Dietician Esra Çakı gave both theoretical and practical information at the stand. Experts; He shared detailed information about the importance of breast cancer, cervical (cervix) cancer and colorectal cancer screenings and in which age groups and how often these screenings should be performed.
In the information given at the event, it was emphasized that detecting cancer at an early stage critically increases the success of treatment and the patient's quality of life. The message "Don't be afraid of cancer, be afraid of being late" was underlined and the role of healthy living habits and regular nutrition in preventing cancer was explained.
In the event that went beyond raising awareness, citizens who met the screening criteria (such as age and risk factors) were mobilized without delay. Individuals deemed suitable were directed to the KETEM (Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening and Training Center) unit, which operates within the Menteşe Emirbeyazıt Healthy Life Center, in order to provide free and reliable screening services.
